hand bouquet for nadie's wedding

Two different flower bouquet for her wedding. red roses hand bouquet for the solemnization. and flower ball for her reception.

You can never go wrong with red roses bouquet. especially when you wears white.

The flower ball of pink roses+white daisies.

i'm happy to suggest to all the lovely bride-to-be to use flower ball for your reception. Simply because you can hang it to your arms like handbag and have your two hands free to shake hands with guests and hug friends. lovely!

I'm happy to receive your order and specially create a bouquet suitable to your colour theme, height and body weight! no kidding, but a client specifically state the bride's weight so that i won't do something to heavy for her to handle. fyi, the bride was 35kg...absolutely jealous!

fresh flower hand bouquet starts from RM 50.

Nadie's Wedding Hantaran

The wedding was in 2007 and Nadie requested fresh flowers for the wedding hantaran. When we first saw the wooden containers, we instantly like it and Nadie decides to have it for her hantaran. Later on i decide to use yellow+purple flower combination because i felt it boosted the colour of the wood and also looks contrasting against the cream colour base.

This time around i suggested to her not to use alas dulang because the decoration on the base was all nice and putting it over another decoration(the alas) will only hide the dangling details on the decorated base. And also, it was more economical...of course.

Hantaran - Wedding band for the husband

Hantaran - Toilette Set

Hantaran - Shoe

Hantaran - Basket of fruits

Hantaran - Chocolates...you can never have enough!

Hantaran - Candles to replace bunga rampai.
i decorated the candle block, add ribbons, flowers, handles..done!
mind you, its tricky to stick things on candles. if you use hot glue you end up melting the candle!
i seriously can't recall what adhesive i use in the end. it must be double tape and pins.

Hantaran - Belt and wallet

Hantaran - Shirt and a pair of pants

This was the first time i work with fresh flowers for hantaran arrangement. i did it with the help of my mum. i have to say its was actually an easy process, it just that working with fresh flowers you're actually fighting with time. you may not want the flower to wilted so soon. so you have to do it as late as possible but in time for delivery. like for this particular project, i start at midnight, finish it by 4am. deliver it at 10am. but the event was 24 hours after that!

But fresh flowers are just nice to look at. like a fresh air...absolutely fresh!
So if you fancy a fresh flower hantaran and would like to help you with it, kindly email me at rosenani.email@yahoo.com .
Fresh flower hantaran price is a little bit high and also depending on current price (fresh flowers are like gold. their price can go up and down too). however i can confidently tell you that it starts from rm55 and can go up base on flower type and quantity. As always, prices are open for negotiation :) .
all pretty pictures above are courtesy of the the bride and groom. taken by none other than prettypeektures! .

Gold & Dark Peach for Nadie's Enggament

This was done for my dearest good friend Nadie. Her enggament was sometime in 2006. The process begin with she picking the flowers then the colour and the rest deco follows trough. i did all the decoration including the alas dulang(tray cover) .

i like the little detail of the gold flower at each corner of the alas. i felt the whole thing created a minimalist classic malay feel. like how i describe it to Nadie 'klasik melayu melaka'. i need to describe things and label it with names to make it easier to absorb and get the feelings...works everytime for me!

Hantaran - Songkok

Hantaran - Bunga Rampai

Hantaran - all of it

Hantaran - Manisan

about 3 years ago, the first project

i suppose if you people read the 'about me' section, u will get the idea that this blog will mainly feature wedding things. well it all started with my sister's wedding, leading to cousins wedding, friends wedding, friends to friends wedding and some strangers i never thought i knew. i guest that's what it means of rezeki or shall i say the circle of contacts.

either way i'm starting to enjoy this little journey that has lead me to create this blog. with lotsa comments and all that courage words from the people close to me, i finally get to this point.
well, maybe to some of you buying your new home or being the head department of something, somewhere is huge, well this is a HUGE thing for me. it took me literally 3 years to build this inner confidence that i am who i am, with this little talent in me i believe i can do alot with it.

rite, enough with the story telling! i'm going to share with you lovelies my first ever hantaran done by me and my sister #1(hantaran are a custom in a malay wedding where bride and groom exchange gifts. these gifts are presented beautifully with flowers and decoration. literally couples can give as many as they wish but the rule is it has to be an odd number. example if the groom give 7 pieces of hantaran and the bride will give 9 pieces. bride must always give 2 pieces more than the groom). we did this for my sister #2 wedding. she wanted something english and sweet. so we came up with the concept of 'english sweet romantic' concept for her.

tepak sirih.
the main important thing in the hantaran custom.

basket of fruits.
it symbolizes fertility and good health.(no such thing. i made it up! but it does sound sensible ain't it?)

shoe and handbag.
it symbolizes that women can't say no to it!

bunga rampai (malay version of potpourri)
usually these bunga rampai will be given to close family member usually the ladies like grandma or aunties as a special souvenir to remember the solemnization.

the holy Quran
to symbolize the guidence path in life as a muslim.( of course if you dont read, study, and practice it in your life, it doesn't mean a thing...)

mas kahwin/ dowry
by right this money belongs to the bride. no one can take or force her to use it.
she have the sole right on how she wants to spend/keep it.

and of course the lord of all rings. the wedding ring! i simply love the ring pillow that we did!

the arrays of hantarans.
the peach is from the groom to the bride and the purple are from the bride to the groom(done by my mum)

That's my sis #2 and her husband.

if you may noticed, pictures were taken by preetypeektures.

boy, i had so much fun with my #1 sister during this project. i still remember the night before the wedding day where we stayed up till morning to finish decorating the hantaran in my little room. we giggle all way long like drunken ladies. which is a nature of us siblings. the giggling part and not the drunken part of course!

this project was a stepping stone for me to keep creating and crafting hantaran. passion towards wedding little detailing just grow and bloom in me since then.

till next time... HAPPY NEW YEAR!
